PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 10, 2018

A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, September 10, 2018 at the Matsche Center.

All members were present.  Also present: Don Schmidt, Tom Gatz, Randy & Vicki Wruck, Lawrence Hable, Sheila Humblet, Lana & Dennis Wruck, Diane Haas, Dennis Rew & Chris Jensen

President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

A report of 2 pythons being housed in the Eastside Trailer park was made and 1 supposedly being missing.

Minutes were read and approved.

Bills were presented.Burazin/Ecker m/s/c to approve bills as presented. Roll call vote – all yes.

Dennis Rew presented the Board with a copy of the survey map for the property on State Rd.

President Sprague received an estimate from K & D Construction for constructing a parking area and pathway at Birchwood Park and covering with gravel at $1,650.00.

Parks Committee reported on concerns found after inspection.

President Sprague and changes made by Cellcom to the former proposal. $600 monthly with $50.00 increase in 5 years, contract reviewed in 30 years.

Equalized values for the Village for 2018 were reported.

Trustee Behm reported that the Lion’s Club will be building a shelter at the ballpark near the playground equipment.

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 27, 2018

A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, August 27, 2018 at the Matsche Center.

All members were present.  Also present: Don & Barb Schmidt, Tom Gatz, Jody Dombrowski, Randy & Vicki Wruck, Ed Resch & Chris Jensen

President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Minutes were read and approved.

Bills were presented.​Burazin/Behm m/s/c to approve bills as presented.

Bids need to be obtained for blacktopping at ballpark.

Surveyor will start on the assessor’s plot after Labor Day.

Sewer lining project has been moved to October.

School surveyor is working on documents.

Basketball hoop is complete.

403 Pearl St. update.

There are still branches hanging over the sidewalk by the bakery and Mrs. Heiny property.

405 Maple has placed a board against fence and a car is parked over lot line.

Don Schmidt submitted a list of projects to be considered for park committee. Sign for  Birnamwood Village Park, trees and merry-go-round replacement. Birchwood Park pond needs restocking of fish/minnows, special needs parking by small shelter, level path/walkway from shelter to edge of pond, pier from path onto pond. Grants my be available and should be researched by committee.

Cellcom has renewed their interest in building a cell phone tower in the Village. President

Sprague reviewed contract conflicts with them.

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 13, 2018

A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, August 13, 2018 at the Matsche Center.

All members were present.  Also present: Don & Barb Schmidt, Tom Gatz, Jody Dombrowski, Larry & Cathy Kessen, Ed Resch, Rueben Eckardt, Diane Haas & Chris Jensen

President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Rueben Eckardt questioned fees for parks.

Street sign for Matthew Dr. needs to be replaced.

Minutes were read and approved.

Bills were presented.Burazin/Behm m/s/c to approve bills. Roll call vote – motion carried with Ecker voting no.

Speed limit change for Hwy 45 was denied.

David Yurk, Shawano County Surveyor, request to oversee surveyors plot project is denied.

Manhole has been installed in Hwy N. Sewer extension into property on North side of Hwy N is complete. Water connection will be finished this week.

405 Maple property has been cleaned up. We will watch for continued compliance.

Complaint filed for 403 Pearl St. & brush over sidewalk by the bakery.

Ecker/Burazin m/s/c to approve picnic license for BAES Pulled Pork in the Park. Roll call vote – all yes.

Don Schmidt suggested looking into grants for handicap parking area at the shelter in Birchwood Park.

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING JULY 23, 2018

A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, July 23, 2018 at the Matsche Center.

All members were present.  Also present: Don & Barb Schmidt, Tom Gatz, Amy Diers, Jody Dombrowski, Dennis Rew, Ed Resch, Terri Serrano & Jakob Malitz.

President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Update on the property at 405 Maple St.

Request for Dead End sign and lower speed limit on Corazalla Dr.

Minutes were read and approved.

Bills were presented.​Burazin/Ecker m/s/c to approve bills as presented. Roll call vote – all yes.

Countryside Fence will be finishing at the ballpark. Dedication went well and was well attended.

Contract has been signed for Assessor’s Plot.

Attorney reported that the contract with Cellcom is not advantageous to the Village with being open-ended, no insurance, control of property and insufficient reimbursement.

Ecker/C. Resch m/s/c to approve picnic license for St. Philomena’s Parish.  Roll call vote – all yes.

Discussion held in regard to use of the Matsche Center this past weekend.  Security deposit will not be refunded and payment used for cleaning the facility.

PROCEEDINGS OF REGULAR MEETING JULY 9, 2018
A regular meeting of the Birnamwood Village Board was held on Monday evening, July 9, 2018 at the Matsche Center.  All members were present.
Also present: Don & Barb Schmidt, Vicki Wruck, Tom Gatz, Amy Diers, Chris Jensen, Merriam Nelson, Ed Resch,  Dennis & Lana Wruck, Julie & Daryl Staeven & Terri & Teresa Serrano.
President Sprague called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Update on the property at 405 Maple St.
Complaint filed in regard to the property at 448 Wausau St.
Minutes were read and approved.
Bills were presented.  Burazin/Behm m/s/c to approve bills as presented. Roll call vote – all yes.
Back stop at ballpark has been painted and flag pole completed. Dedication Tuesday, July 10th.
R. Resch/Diers m/s/c to approve contract with Cornerstone Surveys for $6,900.00. Roll call – all yes.
After research it was found that village residents can serve on committees. Village will need to adopt a resolution specifying this.  Ecker/C. Resch m/s/c to keep committees as set for the current term. Roll call – motion carried with Behm voting no.
